Eric Himmel is Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Abrams Books, where he has worked for more than 30 years as an editor. During those years, he acquired many books on all aspects of design. Some of his favorites include Alexei Brodovitch by Andy Grundberg; Tony Duquette by Wendy Goodman and Hutton Wilkinson; Chairs: A History by Florence de Dampierre; Russel Wright: Creating American Lifestyle by Donald Albrecht; Wiener Werkstatte: Design in Vienna 1903–1932 by Christian Brandstätter; Illustration: A Visual History by Steven Heller and Seymour Chwast; and Hollywood at Home by Architectural Digest. In 2005, American Photo magazine included him in its list “The 100 Most Important People in Photography.”
